The key to any successful project is a well trained work force with good work skills. North Shore maintains continual safety training programs for employees to comply with required OSHA requirements for Health & Safety. North Shore’s employees are classified as being in safety sensitive positions. Various types of spill responses and site remediation can involve a higher risk of personnel safety due to the type of physical or mental hazard associated with the job.
North Shore philosophy is Teamwork and to adhere to the highest standard of quality and safety. North Shore employees and managers have received the following OSHA training certifications including yearly 8-hour refresher courses in several types of hazardous materials and construction programs:

Site-specific health & safety plans
Our work will begin with an extensive safety and job hazard analysis. From this we will develop a site-specific health and safety plan (HASP) that covers the hazards and personnel safety associated with the project to ensure that the project runs smoothly, safely and quickly. Tailgate safety meetings are also conducted on a daily basis.
Your North Shore project manager will create a HASP that includes:
- Site map
- List of site contaminants
- Material safety data sheets (MSDS) for site-specific chemicals
- Site-specific work hazards
- Information about nearest medical emergency locations/phone number
This information is maintained at your location throughout the project and at North Shore’s Corporate Office at N117 W18493 Fulton Drive, Germantown, WI 53022.
Medical monitoring & surveillance
Personal safety is our top priority. To ensure employee well-being, North Shore staff receives ongoing medical surveillance and testing.
Annual tests include:
- Hazwoper/Hazmat medical physicals and surveillance (as required per 29 CFR Part 1910.120)
- Respirator Use/Medical Determination
- Medical History and Physical Examination
- Blood Screen
- Random drug and alcohol testing
In addition, extremely high-hazard assignments might require more frequent testing to help ensure employee safety.
